A Beautiful Friendship!

Good evening... Just a quick post before I nip off to my show this evening. Had a great show last night and had a great surprise about 30 seconds before I went on stage. I felt a tap on the shoulder and found my friend Simon Warner had come to visit. Simon is a fellow comedy hypnotist who works around the Island of Rhodes... just a short ferry ride from me.

So we were lucky to spend the night after my show discussing hypnotism, techniques, sketches and ideas. Here's a couple of photos of me hypnotising at a local bar shortly after my show.....

Till next time,

Burnt & Hungover...

It's been a few days since I've managed to get to my blog. I'm currently chilling out with 2 electric fans pointing directly at me.

I'm still in my summer season in Greece, just 7 weeks and 1 day left till I'll be returning to the UK though. The seasons going fast.

Last night I decided to go out and have a few drinks... lets just say those few drinks got the better of me and turned into lots of drinks. I don't really remember what happened after that. Aparently I turned up at a local 24 hour bar and was virtually carried home by a friend who managed to let me in! Hmmm...

However perhaps it was a good thing. Somehow I woke up at 11.00am this morning feeling incredible. So, OK I couldn't remember what the hell I'd done the night before but now I feel fantastic. I spent the day in and sunbathing next to my local pool with pals Matt and Joe. We had a great day with a game of water volleyball (I failed miserably!) and I caught the sun too - it's all good.

I have a show in about an hour and a half so I'm going to set off to set up for that soon.

I got an e-mail today from a recent audience member whose sister was hypnotised... I mentioned her in the last blog post - she was the lady who.. erm.. didn't like the naked glasses! Anyway, her sister filmed some of the show and has put together this video.. Hope you enjoy it:

You Learn Something New Every Day

Morning, tis a wild world with live in and as clever and clued up as you can think you are, there is still room to learn every single day...

I discovered this during one of my shows last week. In the show I have a pair of giant novelty glasses. I give the volunteers the suggestion that when they wear them, every member of the opposite sex in the room is completely naked.

During this particular show I gave these glasses to a female 20-something and she looked around the room absolutely disgusted, something which has never happened during my show before. She quickly took them off saying that she didn't like them and wouldn't wear them.

So I laughed it off, handed them to someone else and assumed that she was an innocent, sweet thing who wouldn't want to see something like that.

Anyway, she came over to me after the show and explained... her family had told her what she had done during the show and it all fell immediately into place for them. She informed me that she is gay and so when, in her imagination, she saw a room full of naked men she was quite put off and removed the glasses quickly.

She doesn't remember doing it but at least we know why. The power of the imagination is so incredible. I'll never forget that show and I think I'll change my script to suggest that "every member of the audience of their preferred sex" is completely naked!

Next week we'll be starting work on a mini documentary that I'm making about pain. I've always been interested in the idea of pain control and mind over matter. I'll be using my powers of suggestion and hypnotism to give someone out here in Greece completely painless tattoo!!!

Details to follow.

Till next time,

By Popular Demand?

Hey guys and gals,

Thanks for stopping by again. I'm getting lazier and lazier. I only got up at 5.00pm this afternoon. Thats no good at all!

I was supposed to have a night off tonight with no shows but now it turns out I'm "back by popular demand" at Sydney Bar, Kefalos, Kos. Mike, the owner, rang me this afternoon as has asked me to do two nights a week instead of just one, so thats nice.

Hope you are all well. More and more bookings are flooding in for the winter period and my November/December dates will be appearing on the website very soon indeed.

I'll call back tomorrow with details of a new documentary we're going to be making out here!

Till then,
Take care,

Fame at last!

Almost anyway...

I've just arrived at my local Internet cafe here in Kardamena to find someone who immediately grabbed me and took me to a computer where someone was busy watching a video of my show on YouTube. I was delighted to have SundayNights.co.uk in my audience not too long ago and they put together the following video from my show... I am chuffed!

Cakes, Swimming & Hypnotism!

Good afternoon blog and all readers,

I'm performing my show in Tingaki this evening, a small picturesque venue in the North of Kos. Looking forward to that but I thought I'd pop and add to my blog first!

It's currently half three. I've just come back from visiting my friend Joe, he works and runs the bar at a local hotel and swimming pool by the name of Nissia.

They're having a fun day today with a tug of war over the pool, swimming relay races and I got roped into a cake eating competition against Joe. Unfortunately I don't normally eat at that time in the day so my stomach didn't take very well to the chocolate and jam covered fairy cakes. We had 5 each. I got through three before nearly throwing up and throwing in the towel. Joe managed to munch his way through all 5 for a victory! Well done Joe!

But as a lovely consolation prize, they did give out a brilliant plug for my show over the microphone! A few people came over to talk to me afterwards including a girl who had tried to be hypnotised years ago in another hypnotists show but it didn't work. She, therefore, didn't think she could be hypnotised and I was challenged to do it. I've always said you can't hypnotise a sceptic but I rolled with it and she was amazed as I rapidly hypnotised her right there in her chair surrounded by a makeshift audience before sticking her hand to a table and making her forget her own name!

The power of the mind is incredible.

Now here is where you come into todays blogpost. I'm collecting research for a new product I'm creating so all readers of the blog please take 2 minutes of your life to send an e-mail to me at robert@comedyhypnosis.co.uk with the following information:

Your sex
Your age
Roughly how many hours of sleep you feel that you ideally need each night

In a week I'll be posting full details of this new product. Next I have a haircut and a show! Speak to you tomorrow!

I'm back

OH NO!
Just when everything was looking up and I was ready for regular blogging, my home Internet went down. So with a combination of using my friends and also the local Internet cafe I havent managed to get onto my blog until now!

Well I'm currently sitting on the coastline of Kefalos, a beautiful and picturesque resort in Kos. I'm on stage in around about an hour and a quarter for 2 hours performing my comedy show as ever.

I've got another 9 weeks of the season left, I can't believe how quickly this season has flown by. I've been here 4 months now!

I'll be flying back to the UK around about the 15th October when I have a couple of weeks off.. well not exactly off - I'll be rehearsing and learning my new show!! First UK show of the winter season is in Hull for Hull Comedy Festival! Should be fun on November 1st. It will take me some adjustment back to the weather in the UK but I look forward to seeing you all soon!

Take care guys till next time when I'll be telling you about a fantastic new "mini-documentary" I'm producing while I'm out here.. all fun!
