It's been a while...

Good afternoon to you all. It's been a few days since my last blog post. I've had a couple of nights off from shows which has been a nice break. It's always good to have a rest from time to time. So I've been primarily relaxing, drinking and socialising. Back to work tonight though as my show is back on tonight. Another local bar that runs live entertainment (I mentioned it a few blog posts ago) appears to have decided not to compete with us anymore, so I'm the only show performing here tonight and it should be quite busy. There was quite strong rivalry between them and the bar I work for. Shame the world has to be like this and people can't just get on with eachother really. Anyway last night I went to visit some friends at Mario's Bar on the Harbour of Kardamena and one of them asked me to hypnotise her right there and then. She didn't want to be made to do anything stupid just wanted to try it to see what it feels like. So I took the opportunity to try out an instant induction. (Mega-quick hypnotism)...

Shortly afterwards another guy who was somewhat drunk proposed that she was just messing about and playing along and challenged me to hypnotise his friend. So I did...

I very rarely decide to bother with such challenges but was quite irritated by the closed mindedness of the sceptic. I'll tell you what though... they believe now!!! So I'm back on stage at Sandra's Two Johnnies Showbar, Kardamena tonight. I'm off to start to prepare now. I'll report back tomorrow with some more stuff. As promised...

I mentioned in my earlier blog post that I would be posting a video later today so here it is. It's a 20 minute montage of highlights and clips from my current show.

I hope you like it. Please take a few minutes to place a comment to this blog and let me know what you think.

Kind regards,

Robert Temple: Hypnotist Live At Sydney Bar, Kefalos, Greece

I'm sorry...

...it's been a while. 4 days now to be precise since my last blog-post. It's all about the procrastination. I've spent every day of the last 4 days saying "Oh I'll do it later...". But "later" never comes does it?

Ah well. Anyway I hope you are well. Had a nice couple of shows recently, the audiences out here are great and seem to appreciate my show. We also got a review of the show on JustKos.co.uk. It said:

"Brilliant entertainment.
A must see this year is the hypnotist!!!! Absolutely amazing! You have to see it to believe it!"

So I was pleased with that. It's always good to hear that people have gone out of their way to review something like that.

Anyway later on today I'll be posting another blog - aren't you lucky!!! I've got a 20 minute video of highlights from my show out here filmed at Sydney Bar/Hotel in Kefalos. I'll add it here tonight.

I have a night off tonight so I'm going to relax, go for a few drinks and enjoy it.

Speak to you later,

The Birthday In Hindsight...

Well it's been and gone. I'm past the 21 year old milestone and officially an "adult". How does it feel? No different to be honest. BUT, I did have an amazing day. Thank you so much to everyone who sent me they're best wishes yesterday whether by phone, text, e-mail or even Facebook! How brilliant is technology?

My birthday went as follows. I was woken up at around 9.30 by my friends Fay and Amy who decided to dress me in a flourescent tutu, fairy wings and a tiara! Still half asleep they guided me to the main square in Kardamena, where we were greeted by a coach full of workers and friends of mine. We all jumped aboard the coach and a minibus and set off for Kos Waterpark. Full of slides, rides, attractions and an amazing wavepool we had a great day. Leaving around 4.00 so that all the workers could be back and ready for work in time. Unfortunately we all got massively sunburnt. Now I just have to hope it turns into a tan!!!

We all got ourselves spruced up and in an incredibly tired state rolled into Ellie's Carvery, for a fantastic roast dinner right here in Kardamena.

As everyone else went to work, I went to set up for my show at Sandra's Two Johnnies Showbar and my show went on stage at 10.10. It was the busiest night we have had so far this season with people of all ages, nationalities and genders. Was a brilliant show and finished my birthday on an amazing high. I'll be adding some photos and video clips from the day soon.. Watch this space!

So today I've been to a barbeque, taken part in a pool tournament and slept. It's a hard life but someone has to do it! Tonight I'm performing at Sydney's Bar in Kefalos. My Dad is out on holiday at the moment. He'll be filming the show and we'll upload as much of it as possible to YouTube soon.

Till next time,
Take care,

Professional Rivalry?

Good morning from the sunny side of the world. You know, in my industry (entertainment) there are a lot of ego's bashing around. There are plenty of people who are arrogant, full of their own importance because they are clearly more important than everyone else. There are a number of acts working out in this resort.

There are a couple of singers, an Elvis tribute, a Chubby Brown impersonator, a comedy act and me. I WISH that these acts could pull together, be friends and support eachother. In a perfect world we could all survive and get on and all be successful. Unfortunately it's not a perfect world by any means.

The other night I found out from a close friend that one of the above acts (who shall remain nameless...), has been bad-mouthing hypnotists in his show at another bar. Not me specifically but hypnotists
in general. Lets just say I'm a little miffed.

Still, I'll let him have his day and I'll have mine. Just a little plan to put into action. If he can use his skills of "comedy" to put me down, I'll use mine to dampen his parade.

Next Tuesday is going to be a fun night with my little "prank". Plus it will all be caught on camera and placed right here on this blog for your enjoyment :-D. I LOVE professional rivalry...

My mum left Kardamena this morning and my dad and step-mum have just arrived after 10 days of driving and sailing. (Rather them than me to be honest). I have a night off to enjoy with them and then it's my 21st Birthday tomorrow.

I'll drop you a note on Saturday. I feel I may be somewhat palatic tomorrow.

Till then,
Take care,

P.S. Do you suffer from stress due to tiredness and lack of sleep. Do you find it hard to get a good night's rest? Next week I'll be launching an amazing new product to the market that will help you maximise your sleep, energy and ability. Just 1 hour of hypnotic sleep is the equivalentof 14-15 hours of every day natural deep sleep.

A brighter shade and a surprise!

Well 2 days, 2 shows and surprisingly little sleep has ticked by since my last contribution on this blog. I'm currently sat on my balcony. Perhaps sat is a strong word... more like hanging off it! The heat is getting somewhat unbearable as this picturesque Island is flung into another heatwave. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining.

The only other problem with the sun is my trademark red hair... it fades to a ginger colour quite easily. So I got it topped up in time for the show yesterday.

My mum is currently over here on holiday and goes home tomorrow morning, unfortunately a day before my 21st birthday (on Friday). I felt a bit of a fool yesterday as I arrived at the Two Johnnies Showbar to set up for last nights show and found the bar to be full of balloons and birthday banners. I was told that there was a birthday celebration taking place that night for an audience member. For some reason I just didn't put 2 and 2 together and realise it was an early birthday celebration for me, thrown by the mother! So after the show we had karaoke and fun and games and it was a lovely night. Thanks Mum, Reece, Sandra, Tony, Charlie and all involved.

This morning I got up around 12, went for breakfast and then a swim. It's currently 5.15pm. I'm off for a siesta before the show tonight. I'll pop back on tomorrow with some interesting news and updates.

Till then,
Take care,

"It's A New Day, It's A New Life And I'm Feeling Good"...

...as someone far greater than me once sang.

Which brings me nicely into my brand new blog. It seems like I've said this so many times but I have promised myself that I will keep this one updated and regularly spiced with my thoughts, feelings and views on my career and life. With permanent Internet access being as fast and available as it is, I have no excuse. I will now be maintaining this blog and posting to it AT LEAST every 2 days.

The main reason for starting a whole new blog was the very exciting birth of my brand new website yesterday at www.ComedyHypnosis.co.uk.

It's a completely new look, new style but keeping my traditional red and black colour scheme that I have come to know and love. I hope you like it and would love to hear any of your comments, good or bad!

In case you are new to my unusual hypnotic world allow me to indulge myself with an introduction. I'm Robert Temple and I'm a professional comedy stage hypnotist
based in Newcastle Upon Tyne but I travel all over the world performing my fast paced hypnotic show. At the moment I'm "stationed" in the beautiful Greek Island known as Kos. I live in Kardamena, the fun-filled 18-30 resort and 5 nights a week I travel around Kos to present my show in a number of bars, hotels and other venues for English, German and other holiday makers. It's a great life but a busy one. You can read more about "a day in the life of me" and check my tour calendar at my website.

Fortunately the Island isn't very big and it doesn't take more than 45 minutes to get to any of my venues. I'm here until October when I'll be returning to the UK to continue my travels around the country performing for parties, pubs, private clubs/organisations, dinners, cabaret venues, comedy clubs, universities and many more.

It's currently 2.40 am but in the sweltering heat of my apartment I've dragged my backside onto the computer to record my thoughts at this awful hour.

Well for now I shall leave you my friends. Please take a few moments to look over the new website. It will have a number of additions over the coming month including an e-shop (for merchandise and therapy products), more photos and videos from this year's summer season and much more.

Feel free to subscribe to this Blog, read more about me and check out my favourite resources and links.
