One Down, Two To Go (and a first attempt at video blogging!)
Merry Boxing Day!!!
I sincerely hope you had an incredible Christmas this year and that Santa brought you everything you desired. Its amazing how often people say that isn't it... "Did you get anything nice?". Sometimes you wonder if things become to commercialised and forget the real reasons for these festivities. I'm not a religious guy but I guess its all about spending time with your families etc.
I'm currently away in Egypt at the moment in Hurghada, a lovely fast-developing tourist resort. Unfortunately it is too far away from the Pyramids and the Valley of the Kings, an area I will visit upon my next return.
I'm here performing three shows for The Ministry of Sound Red Sea and Hed Kandi Red Sea. We had our first show last night following a smashing Christmas dinner. About 80 people in the audience and I'm delighted to say that they seemed to love the show. I've attached some photos of it in this blog. I have another show tonight and one more tomorrow. I was a bit worred as 2 days ago I developed "the Egyptian Belly". Its a hideously unpleasant illness which involves spending most of the night with your head down the toilet! Fortunately I appear to have recovered quickly enough and with any luck it wont return!!
Everyone has been very friendly and really taken care of us here. I'm working alongside a magician chum of mine, Jack Bryce and we've had a great laugh out here.
Lots of people are talking about the show all over Hurghada today and I've had a few people come up and ask me about hypnotism, myself and the show.. which is lovely!
The Egyptians were quite taken by the show. I don't think they have ever seen anything like it before.
Anyway today I've also included my first attempt at video blogging. I've a lot to learn about it but hey.. ya gotta start somewhere.
I'll try and get some more photos of the show tonight and tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll show you something that we saw here in Egypt... it made me giggle anyway!!

Its a hard life...
Greetings from Egypt!
I'm currently sitting in my hotel room at the Marriott Hotel in Hurghada, Egypt, where I will be spending the next 7 days of my life. I'm performing my hypnosis show for the Ministry of Sound and Hed Kandi three days over Christmas and the jolly nice people have put me up here!
I'll post a video blog tomorrow so you can see the environment and I'll follow it up with photos from the shows in the next few days.

The Pain Of Fashion
Hi everyone,
I just thought I'd take a few minutes to post a quick blog entry whilst I'm not doing anything else. I'm actually sitting with a towel round me, waiting for my hair dye to set. It's a little painful, the bleach in the dye seems to burn right into my scalp! Still, its settling off now and it'll all be worth it when its done!
Life is keeping very busy for me as usual. This evening I'll be performing my comedy hypnosis show for a big fancy dress party. It's being held in a big house in Hartlepool, North East England. I'm very much looking forward to the performance, should be fun!
I recently received the following testimonial from one of my recent clients:
"Never had so many requests from customers for an act to return - most fun any of us have had for ages! Laugh out loud funny, rude but not crude, intelligent yet silly - an amazing performance from an amazing fella!" - John & Toni, The Cross Axes Pub, Blackburn
It's always nice to hear comments like this about my shows. Plus, they've re-booked the show for February 1st. So I'll look forward to visiting them all again.
I hope you are all prepared for Christmas and looking forward to the festivities. I'll post again tomorrow to let you know about a very special announcement.
Till then,

Thanks Matalan
Well 3 days have gone by since I last blogged.. so I'm not doing too badly in keeping you up to date!
I had a great night last night performing my comedy show for the Matalan staff party up here in my hometown of Sunderland. Thanks to all who were there, we got amazing feedback from lots of people who were all very welcoming to me and provided me with a lovely buffet too!
I'm back to the writing desk now. I've got my notepads out and I'm constantly writing new ideas for my new show and also planning a major event for February which I'll be blogging about in the next few days.
Keep reading everyone and I'll speak real soon!
Kind regards,

It's a small world.
I'm currently going through the fun but unenviable process of learning to drive. It's time to stand on my own four wheels and stop relying on public transport or, more commonly, my friends and family for a lift everywhere!
It's strange but every single driving lesson I have with my driving instructor, Billy, I seem to uncover new coincidences and I realise just how small the world is. For example, in the last 2 weeks I have discovered that he know about 4 people that I know, is a member of the BNI (a business networking organisation - see previous post) and today I discovered the most interesting secret....
You see, on Sunday evening I am performing my first Corporate Christmas Party of 2009. Right here in my home town of Sunderland I'll be performing for the staff and managers of Matalan, the well known clothing company. I'm looking forward to the show, which is the second gig I've booked this year from Facebook - how the world moves forward!
Anyway.. turns out that one of the students that Billy had out on the road earlier that day works for Matalan and proudly announced that they had a hypnotist booked for their party on Sunday... ME! It IS a small world.
So I'm set to take my first (and hopefully my last) driving test in the middle of January and its inspired me to do something massive... details coming in a couple of weeks!
I have a night off tonight after lots of shows and I've just heard on the grapevine that a hypnotist pal of mine is performing in the city centre so I'll go and meet my girlfriend, Jo, from work and tug her arm to come with me down to do some spyi... research by watching the show.. haha!
I'll report back about the Matalan party show on Sunday.. I'll try and make a short video documentary about the show for a vid blog post.
Hope you are having a lovely evening whatever you are up to and I'll speak to you very soon!
Till next time,
Kindest regards,

Time Flies When You're Having Fun....
In the words of a famously grumpy old man in a favourite TV sitcom of mine... "I Don't Believe It!"
I can't begin to believe that its almost two months since I last posted on this blog! I hope the regular readers have missed my rants, raves and adventures but I'm back with a vengeance and I intend to stay here too.
As you will have read in my last blog post, I flew back from the summer season in Kos on October 13th, long enough ago to have lost the small amount of sun tan that I had developed. As my brother pointed out I have returned to my regular pale blue complexion!
Well the winter is generally time off for me. After 6 months of performing my full 2-hour show five nights a week... I deserve a bit of "me" time however I've enjoyed the few gigs I have done since my return in pubs and similar venues around the UK and I'm just about to hit Christmas party season. Are you having a work or a club Christmas party? Looking for unique entertainment? Get in touch with us for your free, no obligation quote.
I got back on October 13th safe and sound and I was staying with my mum for a couple of weeks down in lovely Berkshire, then travelled to stay with a friend for a weekend in Manchester and finally back to the North East where I'm currently staying the wintertime out with my dad and step-mum.
So I've been spending a lot of time thinking and I'm already preparing for the Kos Summer Season 2009. I'm really looking forward to my return and I'm writing a brand new show ready for next year. One comment that I heard about a lot of the other entertainers in Kos is that they always have the same act year in year out. I refuse to get into that rut. It's very, very easy as an entertainer to stick to what you are comfortable with. I've done my current family show now for 4 years and its time for a change.
I've been sent a lot of very positive comments and reviews from people who enjoyed the show this summer in Kos and they have inspired me to continue to build on this "fanbase". Many of them are returning next summer and so I want to have a new show to keep everything fresh.
I'm also putting the finishing touches on my new adults only xxx-rated hypnotic show, "Hypnotica" which will be launching in April with a big theatre performance in Manchester and also a DVD release. I'll let you know as soon as the tickets go on sale!
I had to get up very early (6.00 am) this morning as I went to visit the BNI (a fantastic business networking organisation where businessmen and women can exchange business referrals). I used to be a member however with weekly meetings this became impossible to maintain with the amount of time I spend working abroad.
Anyway, as much as I'd like to go back to sleep right now I will force myself to stay away and try to continue writing for the new show.

I'll drop another blogpost in the next couple of days to let you know about the very exciting news I have this Christmas!
Till next time,
Best wishes,
